Cute Little Holiday Gift Bag
Filed Under 3-D Items | Leave a Comment
This is designed as a holiday gift bag, but you can use the template and instructions to create the bag for any occasion!!! This bag is created using the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper from the Holiday Mini catalog, striped grosgrain Chocolate Chip ribbon, Clear Rhinestone brad, and a large felt Snowflake from the Clearance Rack!

Here’s how to make it. Lots of steps but it is easier than it looks!
Start with selecting what paper you’d like to use and then cut
- One piece at 9 x 12.
- One piece at 3 x 7.
- One piece at 3 x 9.
Instructions
- Score the 9 x 12 piece at the 1, 2, 7 and 8 inch marks.
- Rotate and score at 5 and 7 inch marks.
- Cut the score marks at the 5 and 7 marks (see image).

- Use SNAIL adhesive or Sticky Tape to the inside of the flaps to begin building/folding the box together.

- Complete the box.

- Then using the 3 x 7, score at the 1 and 6 inch mark and then rotate and score at 1-1/2.
- Then use the 3 x 9, score at the 1, 2, 7 and 8 inch marks, rotate and score at 1-1/2.
- Cut triangles as shown here — used to fold along the top (also shown here).

- Completed box and project. Ribbon was added and the snowflake attached using a Clear Rhinestone brad.

Other Ideas
- Stamp on the paper (before assembling), such as using Baroque Motifs or other swirl-type of stamp set and then a dark ink like Chocolate Chip.
- Use other embellishments to decorate the bag.
Last but not least…don’t miss the HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!!

Serene Snowflakes, Elegant and Bright
Filed Under Cards, Christmas, Embossing | Leave a Comment
I absolutely love this new set featured in the Holiday Mini catalog, Serene Snowflakes, as well as the Icicles rub-ons. Here is it used with Chocolate Chip and Bella Bleu (Very Vanilla). The technique used is Heat Embossing.

I really enjoyed making this non-traditional holiday card…using Very Vanilla!!! Something different. Hope you enjoy it and it inspires you to think of new holiday color combinations!
The Stampin’ Up! product used:
- Chocolate Chip Craft Ink
- Serene Snowflakes stamp set
- Sweet Swirls wheel
- Clear Embossing Powder
- Heat Gun
- Dazzling Diamonds
- Two-way Glue Pen
- Icicles rub-ons
- Kraft Taffeta Ribbon
- Silver Buckle from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware
To make this card:
- Create a 5-1/4 x 5-1/4 Square Card using Very Vanilla cardstock.
- Cut either two pieces of different patterned Very Vanilla paper from the Bella Bleu designer series paper pack (as I did) or just use one pattern.
- At the bottom, ink up the wheel with Craft ink and then roll across. Cover with embossing powder, shake off the excess powder and heat.
- Then, for the top section, rub-on many snowflakes of different sizes.
- Then ink up the snowflakes from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set and stamp around (using Craft Ink). Emboss them.

- Next, using the Two-Way Glue Pen, add Dazzling Diamonds to the snowflakes or where desired. I added it to the snowflakes and in between the swirls at the bottom.
- Adhere the two pieces down to the card front.
- Lastly, wrap a piece of ribbon around, threading it through the buckle, and adhere on the inside of the card.

Other ideas:
- Try other color combinations
- Try the crayon-resist technique withe the snowflakes

Christmas Cocoa Ornaments
Filed Under Cards, Christmas, Punches | Leave a Comment
I thought this week I would featured some holiday items from the new Holiday Mini catalog: Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper as well as the new Ornament punch. And what’s the holiday without a little sparkle! Dazzling Diamonds were used in addition to the Icicle Rub-ons. Silver cord was used to top and hang the ornaments.

So first, I cut a 5-1/4 x 10-1/2 piece of Soft Suede (but Close to Cocoa could have been used as well as Chocolate Chip) and scored in half. Then cut a patterned pieceof paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper collection.
Next I placed a few snowflakes (rub-ons) towards the top of the thin-striped patterened paper, and then border rub-ons at the bottom. I used the Two-Way Glue Pen to then adhere Dazzling Diamonds to the snowflakes.
Lastly, I punched three ornaments from different papers in the Christmas Cocoa pack, punch a whole a the top of the ornament to tie a bow, laid the string (silver cord) which will appear linked to each ornament, and then adhered each ornament using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Other Suggestions:
- Try White Embossing Powder.
- Add a greeting.
- Stamp snowflakes using the Serene Snowflake stamp set or use the new wheels in the Holiday Mini Catalog.
- Use the Merry & Bright rub-ons collection with the ornaments.
